What this policy covers
This policy explains how My Umpire handles information in the mobile app, this website, the browser Web Scorer and the live score viewer. The app and website are designed so that core scoring does not require a personal My Umpire account.
The information handled depends on the feature you use. A match scored only in the app stays on that device. A match shared live is published to the live score service so people with the code or viewing URL can follow it.
Mobile app data
The mobile app stores match setup, teams, players, deliveries, scorecards, results, match history and scoring preferences on your device. This local data is what lets the app score matches offline and resume saved matches later.
The app does not use a personal sign-in account for local scoring. You can delete saved matches and local player records from the app's history and settings. Removing the app, clearing its data or restoring a device can also remove locally stored records, depending on your device backup settings.
Browser Web Scorer data
The Web Scorer stores the current quick match in the browser's local storage. This lets a refresh keep the match in that browser profile, but it is not an account, cloud history or cross-device sync service.
Starting a new match or clearing the site's browser storage removes the saved browser match. Private browsing, browser settings, storage limits or changing devices may prevent the browser from keeping it.
Live score sharing
When the scorer starts Live in the mobile app, My Umpire publishes the match title, team and player names, innings scores, batters, bowler, overs, chase details and results needed for the live score page. The app uses an anonymous Firebase service identity to create and manage that live channel; it is not a personal My Umpire account.
Live match data is readable by people who have the shared match code or viewing URL. Do not put private, sensitive or confidential information in team or player names. When sharing stops, the service marks the channel as stopped and the last published score may remain available until the service removes it.
Analytics
The mobile app may use Firebase Analytics for meaningful product events such as starting or completing a match, resuming a match, changing match settings, viewing a scoreboard, using undo or starting or stopping live sharing.
The app does not send every ball-by-ball scoring action to Analytics. Analytics is optional to the core scoring flow; if the Firebase service is unavailable, the app continues to support local scoring.
Notifications
If you grant notification permission, the mobile app can use Firebase Cloud Messaging and platform notification services to deliver enabled app update or announcement categories. A device notification token and topic subscription may be processed for that purpose.
You can disable notification permission or individual notification categories in the app or in your device settings. The website does not need notification permission to view a live score.
Messages to support
If you email support, we receive the email address and the information you include. We use it to reply, investigate the issue and improve My Umpire. Please do not send passwords, payment details or other sensitive information in a support message.
Service providers and external links
My Umpire uses Firebase services for Analytics, notifications, anonymous live-channel access and live match data. The website also relies on hosting, database, delivery and browser services to provide its pages. These providers may process technical request information needed to operate their services and have their own privacy policies.
Links to the Apple App Store, Google Play and other websites open services operated by third parties. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies and terms.
Your choices
You can keep matches local, delete app history and player data, clear the Web Scorer's browser storage, stop live sharing and disable notifications. If you need help with information sent in a support email, contact us at bhumik.dhrangadhriya@gmail.com.
Because live viewing is code-based, anyone who receives a code or viewing URL may be able to see that published match. Share it only with the audience you intend.
Changes and questions
We may update this policy when the app, website or connected services change. The date shown on this page identifies the current version.
